Hong Kong summers can be scorching. Between the scorching sun, oppressive humidity and torrential downpours, it isn’t uncommon to come out drenched in sweat immediately upon leaving home. So why not cool off at one of Hong Kong’s premier swimming pools? Not only can they provide relief from the heat but they also boast some breathtaking city views!

Leisure and Cultural Services Department has had difficulty hiring seasonal lifeguards for the upcoming summer season, only filling 240 of 550 positions as of last Monday; union representatives warned 17 public pools could close lanes or facilities reserved for swimming lessons due to staff shortages. To improve matters further, Leisure and Cultural Services promised changes this year including increasing salaries of seasonal lifeguards while recruiting them on two-year contracts.

Hong Kong pools will refresh and rejuvenate you – from the world’s highest pool to a natural infinity pond on a mountainside – no matter the time of year! Additionally, many hotels feature heated pools so swimming year-round.

By booking Hongkong pool tickets early, you can find yourself with great savings. An adult ticket usually costs HK$200 while seniors and students may save up to HK$150 by purchasing early tickets. There are also public parks with pools offering discounted admission.

If you plan to visit one of the city’s premier pools, be sure to bring sunscreen, snacks and a towel/change of clothes – swimming is an excellent form of exercise which reduces stress while improving energy levels and immune functioning. Plus, swimming three times every week has been found to significantly enhance sleep patterns!
